The Oceans Patience. Poem by Tor Magnor Solvang

The Oceans Patience.

The sea is wide, so very wide,
And waits, it waits, with patient tide.

Like gentle giant, strong and deep,
It holds the creatures while they sleep,
The tiny bugs, the birds that fly,
The sea supports them, by and by.

Down in its blue, so dark and cool,
It holds the sadness, every pool
Reflects the grief, the world's despair,
The sea takes all, and doesn't care
To ask for thanks, or make a claim,
It beats its heart, a healthy flame
In a world that's hurting, sick and sore,
The sea beats on, forevermore.

It sings its songs, old tunes and deep,
While creatures watch from rocky steep.
Each hears a song that's just their own,
A secret message, softly sown.

It smiles at kids with waves so bright,
As crabs are caught in morning light.
It crashes bold on ships at sea,
And sprays the sailors, wild and free.

The gray waves roll towards the land,
A tired soul, with sand in hand,
Watches the foam, a silvery trace,
And finds a peace within that space.

The wave sighs soft, then disappears,
And each one feels, dispelling fears,
The sea knows all, and holds it tight,
A faithful friend, in day and night.
