As the sun moves to the western horizon
Colours are skilfully blended in a palette
In an instant the sky becomes an exquisite canvas of art
Making even Van Gogh burn in jealousy

There is so much to love about this poem. I adore the image of the truant clouds and a band of crickets and cicadas. The beauty and romance spills from this lovely poem. I was swept up with the romance and magic....gorgeous! Straight to my favourites!
The Night Sky holds many dark secrets This poem unfolds many of its mysteries. Still many secrets are hidden in its darkness A time may paint again its mysteries. Let's wait for another picture This poem shines in sky of darkness. Beautiful poem shining like twinkling stars. Loved it from your pen Valsa. I have to learn a lot from you.
The mystery of night sky nicely revealed to the readers creating great imagery with articulate touch.10+++
Shoot, if he were still alive, Van Gogh would read this and pull his hair out in frustration that he could not paint this nightscape more full of beauty, more full of wonder, and more full of heart-touching detail. This is Poetry with a capital P. Every verse in this poem fits right in with this stunning verse: With the last glimmer of sunset When the shadows chase the light, The aerial folks fly back to their nests Like black and white specks dotting the sky 10+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Hmm..... Susan I don't know how to thank you enough! I only know this much..... your beautiful comments make me want to write again and again though I have been passing through an inert phase of life.... may be the Writer's Block!
Lo! What a beautiful write Nothing less but to be read thrice!
You have unfolded the beauty of sunset and night's treasures.
In a palette! ! With the muse of nature. Nice piece of work.
Sunset and the arrival of night exquisitely described. You excel when you bring in the breeze and aroma of opening buds on a poetic palanquin. (10)
Van Gogh painted his Starry Night in a mental hospital. Different persons give different meanings to this great work of art. The poetess paints it from a sweet home and her poem is not a dream of a crazy artist. It's a wonderful painting with help of beautiful lines having charms of colorful words.
I go outside as often as possible to watch the sunset and all that unfolds at dusk. I then remain out to gaze at the sky for up to another 4-6 hours. Your poem so eloquently describes why I do this. Thank you, Valsa
What a brilliant write! Imagery is simply spell-binding. The nightfall is so beautifully portrayed that the reader's heart explodes like foaming wine in a bottle. Richly descriptive. The last stanza is like icing on the cake. It gives an emotional angle to the exquisite description that precedes it. A10
