Hi Noreen I just had to acknowledge this poem again I just love the way your quatrains effortlessly flow with the beautiful legend of god, and incidents which have become overly familiar take on a scintillating quality that is heartwarming. I think partly I react this way because the quatrains pace the re-telling of Jesus's life with a leisurely flow that is totally consistent with his divine mission, which despite difficulties and suffering, was bound, NO, destined to succeed because he IS destiny. Also, this poem has a sophisticated appeal to a mature reader, but it has a simple charm as well readily accessible to a very young reader. It's a treasure!

This is a wonderful Ballad of Jesus, you incorporate so many of the key events of his ministry it's virtually a biography. Well, I would have included the Transfiguration because it's so operatic! But you are emphasizing the Jesus who helped the lonely and helpless, the one who served without fanfare. This is truly a touching and convincing portrait of the Redeemer doing the quiet work of saving souls. You wrote as a Christmas poem, I'm appreciating it as an Easter poem!

What does Christmas have to do with Jesus...? Christmas is pagan. And Jesus (or rather Yeshua) was Jewish. Why do people remember him on this pagan day having nothing to do with him...? Poor pagans, poor Christians, poor Jews... We're all a bit confused.

The Christmas tale well aptly told, kind of like a neat Christmas card at this time of the year. Thanks for sharing!

An optimistic poem indeed... And it would be better if he were all around us in these harder days...

Beautiful tribute to Jesus as his star still shines so bright to awaken and move us to love each other and not to pass judgement. A light that glistens in sometimes a darkened world to show us that he will save and comfort us!
