The new normal, aches and pains galore!
Relief I long for: pills provide scant help,
They tamper down the pain, but yet I yelp
When moving this or that way: I abhor!
The human body's not designed for age:
We outlive our evolution's span,
No guarantees to anybody's plan
Wherever they may be at their life's stage.
I should be grateful having come this far,
My mental functions are at least intact,
Though memory is no longer exact:
Old age, I guess: I'm luckily at par.
Will I go gently into that good night?
Not a bit, sir, not without a fight!
