The Mystery Of Love Poem by Amal Jacob

The Mystery Of Love

My friend chuckled. What are you waiting for,
Who is coming that's worth defying the universe's timeline?

'A beloved one,
The one who ignited my heart and later broke it.'

He looked at me with amused curiosity.
'You? A strong heart, an unshakable will—and yet,
you speak of heartbreak? Is this a long, mysterious love story? '

I smiled. Oh, Sundara, you haven't changed one bit. Always the same old tricks to unravel my secrets.

Alright then, he said, grinning.
Tell me the story, and I will wait with you.

It began with a group of college students in my hometown. They invited me to be the chief guest for their fresher's day party. I was curious to learn about the thoughts and dreams of this new generation.
I asked them to write letters, sharing their struggles, questions, and ideas.

Each letter was a doorway into the minds and hearts of these young souls. Amid the sea of words, one letter stood out. It came with a USB drive, unsigned and anonymous.

At the fresher's day event, I addressed the students.
Out of the 2,000 letters I received, only one spoke of true devotion. Only one resonated with the deepest part of my soul.

Who wrote the letter and sang this song?

I played her song for the audience, hoping someone would recognize it. The room came alive with music and joy as I danced with the students, celebrating the moment.
Yet, no one stepped forward to claim the letter.
She remained silent.

I smiled at the crowd. Many of you have asked why I am not married. The answer is simple: I have never found love like this before. So, I have decided to stay here, transfer my credits, finish my incomplete course.

The students erupted with excitement.

This is a new chapter of my life, I announced.
And perhaps, maybe the greatest love story.
I call it,

'The Mystery of Love'

I will find you!

I froze for a moment.

Friend, And? Did you find her?

I turned, my eyes fixed on the shimmering light of the approaching person. 'Yes, I found her.' I pointed, and as she walked toward us.

When she reached me, I smiled.
I knew you would come.

'I've left everything for you, ' she whispered.
