At Evers Creek, behind the redwood barn,
a mystery still travels on by near and far,
like the rush and rip of the Creeks dark hole,
as it did the night it swallowed twelve Souls;

ADDITION: TRULY MACABRE and MYSTERIOUS we al must regard this as hauntingly serious. I cite here your last two lines, Frank, 'twas an icy-veined service, nobody cried; 'twas blood-cold indifference, personified. This mystery was never solved, I reckon.
By near and far behind the redwood barn a mystery travels and this mystery is amazingly perceived. You have expressed your brilliance in this excellent poem. Only Soul and Saint can speak about the mystery and evidence. Thank you very much for penning this lovely work my friend. Congratulations!
How did the twelve perish at Evers Creek? That is the question which the poem asks, but does not answer. To drown in a creek is unusual. Saint Anselm might know the answer through mystical insight-perhaps. Why was their funeral so cold and impersonal? A fine poem.
29 Oct 2017 29 Oct 2018 29 Oct 2019........................................CONGRATULATIONS for the Third time, Frank, being selected as The Member Poem Of The Day, Hurray! How about that Mystery, Frank? Eerie Evers Creek! Is this Mystery solved? A 10 Full Score for this Mysyery Poem. Do 12 dead persons mean nothing to the public? ! May they R.I.P.
An on-the-edge-of your-seat, goosebumps inspiring poem. And a recognition for Member poem of the Day by someone who definitely earned it- - you! Congrats, Frank!
Only strong willed souls can live and do impossible things in life, dear Frank! Congratulations for having selected your poem as Member Poem of the Day!
‘‘Twas blood cold indifference personified.....a low point of human nature brought out in an errie poem. Congratulations for a poem that stirs our soul.
Well remembered incident sincerely dealt with. Congrats
Many congratulations for this thought provoking piece of poetry being chosen as Poem of the Day!
Soul and Saint who can speak; 'bout the perish of twelve at Evers Creek; ..///greatly penned
A beautifully crafted thought provoking write. A flaw in society's system, an unfair act tantamounts to injustice committed against the 12 deceased is vividly portrayed and conveyed. The lack of kindness of people is beyond comprehension considering the number deaths. Congratulations for a well deserved Poem Of The Day.
PART TWO: I had the same poem. Congratulations for this truly eerie poem perfectly for the HW-Days. Congrats for being chosen as the Member Poem Of The Day, Hurray! A well thought-provoking poem, dear Frank and in my Dutch ears, it sounds truly authentic North American.. Beautifully crafted write and eerie though, titled: The Mystery And Indifference At Evers Creek. Amazing, Frank. A 10++++++++++++++++++ for the Vote on PH here.
Spellbinding write, Frank. It conveys a feeling of pensive thoughts in striking own Frank-words. Ah, submitted last year on the 14th of Oct, enough time to be read as the Perfect Poem for the Famous Eerie Halloween Days (weeks?) . This was the Member Poem Of The Day too in 2017, I know. And this time again exact on the SAME DATE, the 29th October. In my country it is already the 30th Oct.(West-European-time-) I had that the same with
Blood cold indifference, personified. An awesome conceptualization. Heartiest Congrats on the poem of the Day.
Congratulations on poem of the day, an excellent poem, a well earned 10 voted
Congratulation for the selection of your above poem as poem of the day, my dear Frank!
'twas an icy-veined service, no-one cried; 'twas incarnate indifference, personified. - - - - - - -It was really pathetic that the cause of death of twelve persons remained a mystery and there were none to grieve for the dead.Any departing soul surely wish that his kith and kin know his fate and to be remembered. Did these twelve people matter nothing...so as to cause an investigation to unravel the cause of their death ?
Having read once couldn't make out anything. Went through comments. Yeah! There's something. Read again, got the message, poet was trying to deliver through the poem. Indifference in humans on humanity, is not specific to one culture or one part of the world. What makes it so, is the question in hand. Congrats on being selected as the members PoD. Thanks for sharing. X
Frank, thank you for honouring the memory of the 12 who perished. And for reminding us all to never be indifferent. This is the kind of poetry that truly deserves the honour of being presented with Poem Of The Day. A Hearty Congrats!
