The More You Look! Poem by Shahzada Imtiaz Ali

The More You Look!

The more you look, the less you see,
A strange truth — can you watch your eyes?
And the thing closest to your soul,
Why is it hated? Can they tell why?

I am the moon, I am the sun,
Living a life — stunned, yet one.
Striving to be the best bearer,
Mercy my brother, piety my sister.

Bearer of unity, holder of grace,
Let love for mankind take its place.
Offer pardon, forgive each fall,
Let character rise — the highest moral.

Think of Noah, calm through strife,
Live with light — a seraph's life.
