The More Ancient The Covenant

The more ancient the covenant,
the greater our obligation to fulfill it.
Yet, if someone reminds us of this covenant,
we have utterly forgotten,
That is the clear sign of Divine mercy.
As Allah reminds us in the Qur'an:
'And indeed, We had already taken a covenant from Adam,
but he forgot, and We found not in him determination.'
