The Monster Inside Poem by Eryn Stone

The Monster Inside

I'm breaking down
I'm hanging on by a thread
I just want to see you again
Where did you go
Cause the person I see
Isn't the one that loved me

You used to be so kind to me
But now that you are blind

Chorus:
I never knew hate till I met you
Now I'm filled with so much hate
I just want to love you
But now there's a monster inside
I'll just curl up and die

There's not much more I can take
There's just to much pain
You're so lost that you can't be saved

You used to be so kind to me
But now that you are blind

Chorus:
I never knew hate till I met you
Now I'm filled with so much hate
I just want to love you
But now there's a monster inside
I'll just curl up and die

Snapping at the seams
Can you hear my screams (2X)

Chorus:
I never knew hate till I met you
Now I'm filled with so much hate
I just want to love you
But now there's a monster inside
I'll just curl up and die

(10 Count Break)

Alternative Chorus:
I never knew hate till I met me
Now I'm filled with so much hate
I just want to love myself
But now I have to kill the monster inside
So I'll curl up and die

Splitting at the seams
I hope this is all a dream (2X)

Splitting at the seams
I was all a dream

(5 Count Break)

I'll curl up and die

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I wrote this song about my struggle with anxiety and depression. The you in the story is the demons inside my head. The make me into a person I don't want to be. Sometimes it feels like the only way to get my old self back is to just kill myself.
