It’s Monday night, the pubs are bare,
No sign of life, there’s no-one there
But I know a pub, a great little pub
It’s in there you’ll find The Monday Club!
No entrance charge, no joining fee
A London club where entry’s free.
The only stipulation made
Is Monday’s shift, you did evade!
A heavy session Sunday night
A few too many and you just might
Phone up your boss to say you are ill
And you’re off down the docs for a pill!
But you don’t need a fancy pill
What you need’s a miracle.
Hair of The Dog is what it is called
The name, don’t worry you won’t get mauled!
The Hair’s to cure your pounding head
The one that thumps, the kind you dread.
Never again, you always say,
The Monday Club? You’re on your way!
Drink does not discriminate.
Early bells or starting late.
Rich or poor or black or white.
The Monday Club will put you right!
Drink’s a problem with this nation
And doctors favour moderation.
They say ten units is our limit,
Some guys do that in sixty minutes!
It cures the ache and clears your head
My mates were right, that’s what they said.
So if on Monday you don’t feel right
Get down there early and stay all night.
