The inner self and outer self of a person may be too different. The outer image continuously changes with time.A mirror can tell only about the outer appearance.Even we may not be knowing our own innerself. When we recognize our true self and our action conforms to our inner self, there will be greater peace and tranquility in our lifeA marvelous write, thanks for sharing..
I like this dramatic monologue very much. It is excellently written. The choice of words is very good. Thought provoking
The speaker makes friends with himself. I love the opening line. It is so appropriate to have the reaction to the aging figure that we see when we peer in a mirror....is that me? Yep! :) The quote and references to Hamlet also inspire the writing here. Mirror poems are a favorite and can be dangerous. You've navigated your mirror quite well. I would add only one extra image here...that of a man taking off his hat before he speaks to himself....
Wonderful write. It expresses so well the duality of our personality n existence. The conflict between the inner n the outer self makes up a considerable part of our lives. We need to find conformity between the inner n outer selves n when we are able to do that, the purpose of our existence is fulfilled. I really like the references from Hamlet as he is a timeless character n we all have a Hamlet in us. Profound work.
