The Mighty Tree Poem by Donald R Wolff JR

The Mighty Tree

So tall, my friend, I love you, tree
I love my hanging tire-swing
A fort of mine was built for me
Hidden high where no one sees

Surprises new from where they hide
Where sunlight never summer shines
Chirping loudly all the time
Mothers watching, closely by

Summer days are made for, never cares
No teachers pets nor teacher stares
Free to play until the dark is near
With all my tree friends' always here

Wasting away the summer time
The mighty tree and only' I
Outside my window; Tree friend of Mine
Until tomorrows morning light
