The Lovers Embrace Poem by Benjamin Chiu Uy

The Lovers Embrace

The Lovers Embrace

The lovers embrace, was the choice of these centuries,
How disirable,
How gratifying as we remembered our mortality,

As old as an old kiss
And the holding of hands,
From the man of a thousand years, reminding every woman of his thousand nights,
To give this same embrace,

Be it you and me,
And the seasons of fastidious night chills,
We give each other this same embrace.

And lovers and the old romantic poet,
These that were standing and the presently standing,
Before the calamities overtook their lives,

They huddled and died in each others arms with this same embrace,

And you should know the jewel you have become with this same embrace
And we hear the thousand dreams of the nightstories,

As with a thousands eagles that are flying inour hearts,
Soared to the heights of a thousand skies and lovers expectations for this present delights,

As with the same human auxicillary tendons and muscles and cells clings to this same beliefs,
As these minutes investiture into these wild wonderous portals for the lovers,

Tonight with this same embrace.
