The Lord My Teacher Poem by Ray Hansell

The Lord My Teacher

I ask You for help
I ask You to forgive
Even though I know
You don't like this life I live

I pray to You in times of need
Other times I don't pray at all
It's only in times of need
To You I even call

Sometimes my prayers are answered
Sometimes they are not
I never reveal to You
Just how much I've got

If You turned your back on me
I couldn't blame You at all
I know that there are times
You should just let me fall

But I know that's not Your way
As You help all You see
But maybe just one time
You should turn Your back on me

You should once make me see
What life would be like without You
You should once make me see
Without You I could not get through
