no comments! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ? a travesty! ! ! now let me read the Poet's Notes AND beyond the first few lines of the poem! re the Poet's Notes: i would be eager to blame myself, see my mistakes, and fix my failings. BUT there is nothing to blame myself for, i make no mistakes, and, as you probably have guessed, i have NO failings! wonderful write aka composition aka poem in this case! favorite lines: ........................... hmmm? dang! ! ! they are ALL my favorite lines! :) PLUS, you have inspired me. look out! ===================================== The Look On My Wife’s Face … [ Marriage mistake(s): over and over; inspired by Elena Plotkin’s “The Look On Your Face Says It All”; a bit of a fib from Bri (a bit): SHORT] The look on her face told me true; she felt ….ONLY I was wrong ….of the TWO …. of us. In her mind it was MY fault ONLY …. that SHE felt unloved AND lonely. Perhaps if I knew what to expect …. when I said “I do”, ….away I’d EJECT …. myself from her! But I didn’t know she’d been OFTEN depressed …. BEFORE she met me [as she later confessed]. AND I didn’t know she’d insist on a BABY! ! I HAD told her I’d NO interest in kids. No “Maybe”. And on top of that she wanted a HOUSE (!) , saying: “If we don’t get one, you ARE a louse! ” I WAS saddened by the look on HER face, BUT I had no reason to feel ANY disgrace. I’d TRIED my best to please her but I’d failed. Now STUCK, I felt that I’d been unjustly JAILED! ! : ( : ( (December 11, 2016)
