The Living Dead Poem by Nyx C Styx

The Living Dead

Bonds of friendship worn
Feet dream-bound torn

the eyes, ached from looking up
rolled back
to see itself
saw black

Hearts heavy like lead
sank to their gut
arms lift their bellies when they strut
these are the living dead

they cannot live knowing they will die
to unfair fate' they won't question why
blanket them with dirt on their way to bed
these are the living dead
