The Line Poem by Yonah Jeong

The Line

early morning
when the hard day begins
at rush hour
people waiting for the bus
standing in a line
every day
the same time
in the same place
without greeting
without conversation
without shaking
Heads down
looking at a cell phone
waiting in the line
same people
standing upright
With an ecstatic expression.
