The Line Poem by Alyssa Marquardt

The Line

Where does the line cross,
Between too much, too little and enough?

Where does the line cross,
Between holding back and being tough?

Where does the line cross,
Between modesty and insecurity?

Where does the line cross,
between what we want and what we need?

Where does the line cross
between sorrow and depression.

Oh why can't anyone teach me this lesson?
Is it just me or are we all on the middle of this line,
thinning by the minute,
tugging back and forth between each side.
And on this line,
Where do I lie?
Seems like I am on the edge of either side,
About to fall,
a long, confusing drop.
Without a stop.
