The Light Of The World Went Out Poem by Royston Nella

The Light Of The World Went Out

The dastardly deed was done.
We had crucified God's Son.
This wonderful man, Jesus,
stretched out His arms for us.
"Forgive them, Father, " He said,
and for us His blood was shed.

"It is finished." He cried,
as He Bowed His head and died,
and the price for sin was paid
by the sacrifice He made.
Then the Light of the World went out
and the darkness could be felt...

…….. but it did not end there ….

Breathing His last earthly breath,
He entered the realms of death.
Then taking Satan's army on
a mighty victory was won.
As from the grave He arose
with power over His foes.
He now stands a glorious sight.
blazing with Eternal Light.
