The Light Poem by David Cleveland

The Light

Rating: 5.0

It took me 57 years to finally see.
My worst enemy turned out to be me.

I say this with sadness. It makes my heart ache.
Straying from the Lord was my biggest mistake.

Satan said. Come with me, let's have some fun.
Or you can stay with the Lord and have none.

So I chose excitement over what's right.
Then everything turned dark; there was no light.

But in the darkness, I heard this voice.
It said, It's not too late, you still have a choice.

Choice is like a double-edged sword.
You can stay in the dark, or walk in the light with the Lord.

So after 57 years, I finally see.
Satan was the enemy; it wasn't me.
