In searching for a poem that had relevance for a remembrance flower ceremony I was to attend, I was fortunate enough to find this one - The Life of a Flower by Scarlett Treat. It requires water, nourishment and warmth Just like us. It needs gentle love to propagate Just like us. It unfolds its petals to show off its beauty Just like us. When a flower is sick, it needs special care Just like us. And when that flower fades away, is it mourned? Yes, because it is just like us. And so, we select another flower, a special flower To accompany our loved one on their last journey Why? Because, after all, they are just like us. Barry Laws 22.6.2015
