The Leaning Post stood still directing everyone
It kept all from the dark so they would only see the sun

Ah! Those fair weather friends. But the leaning post is there through all storms. The true test of friendship is when one is need, to give that help without thought of oneself.

Leaning post gave everything to everyone when it required help, no one came forward. Beautiful flow of poem. Very true said, no one remembers what others have done..Only we can train ourselves that never expect anything from anyone. Life teaches us that one. First time when we come across with this situation, its very shocking, but I think time will make one rough and tough to withstand anything that comes further in life.Loved reading each lines. Great write.

Often those who are willing to help are over exploited... Not only their acts of concern are never reciprocated, but many think that it is obligatory on their part to render such services...! No one bothers to think that the Leaning Post also sometimes need support.... Great write!

We can do too much for people and they can take us for granted, we do have to look after ourselves to make sure we have our time in the sun too! ! I love this beautiful and insightful write! !

Ahhhh....one sided friendship. Being the salve for others pains but rarely reciprocated. The bane of being a sensitive soul.

It looks as if some troll is just blindly awarding every new poem with 5 out of ten. Take no notice of these idiots. Some of us find it better to remove the voting option, but allow comments.
