Precisely the reason why we should question received ' wisdom'. There is so much information out there to sift through. However, if one does one's research effectively there really is no excuse for ignorance. I highly recommend the political writings of Noam Chomsky as well as the renowned Australian journalist John Pilger...from your part of the world isn't he?
