The Lay Of The Lionheart Poem by Isadora Quagmire

The Lay Of The Lionheart

Rating: 5.0

My faithful brother, great and bold,

As a lionhearted knight, his tale unfolds.

Wise in counsel, with courage pure,

Noble in heart, steadfast and sure.

Through the dusk and the dawn he strides,

With a caring touch, where kindness abides.

His wisdom is prudent when on us shadow falls,

A beacon of light when darkness calls.

With sword in hand and shield held high,

He guards his siblings with watchful eyes.

A noble spirit, loyal and true,

He rides the storm, he tames the night,

His presence brings a shining light.

In every deed, in every word,

His soul is forged, pure as a sword.

O brother of mine, steadfast knight,

Your noble heart shines ever bright.

In tales of as of old and songs unsung,

Your legacy on lips is hung.

Through lands unknown and battles assail,

Your courage stands, it shall not fail.

For in your care, we find our peace,

In your embrace, our fears release.

As long as stars adorn the sky,

And moonlight dances, ever nigh,

Your name shall echo, strong and free,

A lionhearted knight, in my heart eternally.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I wrote this poem for my dear older brother's birthday :) It is my feeble attempt to describe his person in poetry, he loves classical literature so I tried to write this in the style of an Old English lay using metaphors and medieval descriptions. I hope you enjoy it!
