The Last Temptation Of Rosales Poem by Raj Dronamraju

The Last Temptation Of Rosales

I'm settling scores with an everlasting commitment to art
I'm pulling out all the stops on implementing a gypsy non-permanence
On the road creativity busks with a soldier's passion
From whence did call the earmarked beautiful
Bribery discussed openly in public with no sense of shame

Terrible you are
Clinging to a blinding summer afternoon inside a dark tavern
Fantasizing about returning via the 101 freeway
Lit like it was the inside of a sports arena
I'm in a van with hockey players and we are singing songs

It's only when the push comes on that the happy face gives way
Must draw a line somewhere and this makes for a strong character
Someone proles can look up to
Art is a part of the flesh and the mind
Not poker chips freely gambled with for a collective break even

Now pursed lips follow Rosales's decision
His every move greeted with scorn
Hurry priceless posterity and remove the doubter's words from any future public discourse
Hurry distance between hometown tragic endings and making the new you

Now Rosales may feel he has been treated unfairly
Hurry betrayals that at some point will have to be undertaken
Hurry the summer period of life which can start or end at any time
Hurry oversized coffee table books containing photographs of paintings
