The Last Tears Poem by BOBOI PUKHRAMBAM

The Last Tears

Rating: 4.5

I march forward holding a Gun,
Thinking about the next rising Sun.
I carry the memoirs of my family;
The days I enjoyed with them merrily.

I shall continue to fight for our land -
Our land, our indigenous land;
To safeguard our forefather's soil,
If needed, I may even bring turmoil.

I even travel the less trodden path,
May or may not even take a bath.
I shall fight the war with all my might.
Wary about my enemies' unknown sight;

When I see the destination in my eyes,
I may not even hear my mother's cries.
But the mightiest soldiers also weep,
For they also have a heart that beep.

I may be destined to life or death, Oh Love!
For the latter, I shall bless you all from above.
These are the last tears for me, you and all of us.
These are the last tears for the onus is on us.
