The Last Question Poem by Ogolla Enock

The Last Question

Everything comes at a cost,
It's not a question "of how much"
But a question of "is it worth it".
If it's worth it, people will pay for it.

This that you pursue, this that you desire
And that which you forewent,
are they worth it? And how do you weigh
what's worth it and what's not it?

Life is punctuated with questions
Some answered, others rhetoric.
The aim is to get to the end of life
and in retrospect have a right answer
to the last question: 'Was it all worth it? '

I know not your answers but
I do know that this piece is worth it.
But now that you've got to the end,
in retrospect, can you vindicate
that it was worth it? "
