I have seen that video and it is wonderful! The pictures that they show of the old West had me in tears at times as I listened to the music. Your poem is VERY fine, as well. Full marks!
Smoky, Ed Bruce was the co-star of the TV show " Bret Maverick" with James Garner during the 1980-81 season. I didn't know that. I looked it up. Another thing I didn't know: He wrote the hit song " Mama, Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up to be Cowboys" that was a big hit for Willie Nelson.
great poem and a great song, do you recall the tv show that ol’ Ed Bruce was in back in the 80’s? A Western, of course. I believe he was a town sheriff. Thank you very kindly for speaking so well of me here pard, I hope that I’m worthy! If I ever sit a saddle headed back into Colorado mountain country I’ll definitely let ya know fer sure. I’d love to sit a spell, chew the fat, have a cup of coffee and conversation with you my pal, keep your back to the wind, and your in the saddle. Happy trails
A beautifully penned poetry if expectation and desires respecting everyone's rights. So very well penned.
This is a sweet expression of what you love so much. Good writing. Keep it up, and give us more!
Love this, and I also love that song you mentioned.
