As a fellow Canadian, I appreciate this poem and I invite you to read mine ‘I Cannot Return’. As a poetry teacher, I must say the opening stanza is poetic genius. The thought throughout is wonderful. May I make a suggestion for the last two lines? The King grew so tired, the Willow leaned high, And we of course were left with a sigh. or And we of course must leave with a sigh. Adeline
