The poem The King's Breakfast coupled with the adorable drawings by E H Shepherd have made it a classic, just like Rice Pudding and others.

Oh, I remember before I retired, I adored teaching children with this lovely poem. I'm so glad that people these days still pay attention to poems. A.A. Milne did so well with this poem, and it's succeeding, as it should be!

A little gem of a poem. I used this piece endlessly when teaching and it was always a favourite. Brings back so many good memories now when I read it.

This was always a favourite poem as a child. Now I enjoy it even more.

The original poem says „I‘ll go and ask the cow now before HE goes to bed“; this is not an error, but a bit of humor. This version erroneously substitutes „she“.
