The Killing Of A Crab Poem by Raghurama Raju

The Killing Of A Crab

I am five!
I sit silently on the bank of a canal
A crab crawls out of its burrow
Its stalked eyes and jointed legs
Intrigue me!
Itsweird walking
Disturbs my young mind!
I pelt a stone at it
Its brittle body breaks
into pieces!
A hundred tiny babiesrun across
the milky juiceof their dead mother!
All of them arelike their mother!
They don't walk straight,
But runacross the path!
I get up and go!
