Military service changes the boy from the moment he signs his life away on the dotted line. The Army will lean a boy down, rid him of nonsensical notions like love thy neighbor. The kid has gone to the colors in more ways than he knows. And we are proud of him- and it is good that we are- but there is part of us that fears for him and really wishes he had not signed up.
