The Journey's Promise. Poem by Dietra Reid

The Journey's Promise.

Rating: 5.0

The added years came from a complicated journey.
Devoid of goals stretched out on a guerney
It was one of unfolding love.
The source of which is up above.

Final treasured words pass softly to her descendants.
There were a few attendants.
Quiet silence made the message roar.
Later the goodbye tore.

The short hand chased the minutes away.
As the sun set on the final day.
But not before a reminder was spoken.
Love, laughter and dance is your unbroken.

How dare I get tired.
Permission was not given to be retired.
Remembering the foundation of shared love.
This leads to the peace of a dove.
