The Journey Of Public Service Poem by Alidu Shaibu Dimah

The Journey Of Public Service

In developing countries where the most needed manpower to turn fortune into reality, workforce is predominantly family and friends. Every privilege person in office pulls along their relatives regardless of their expertise in the field. Academic Qualification is usually thrown to the dogs and with reasonable amount of money your job is guaranteed. Probity and ccountability becomes the song of onlookers. No body accounts to nobody and the tradition goes on to this present day. The constitution and work ethics are only but storytelling by extension anyone with little amount of wealth is above the law.

Who watches the watchman, every citizen of adulthood needs to do something for a living and every public officer who leaves office with nothing to show in terms of property is mocked for being reckless. Nobody evaluate the remuneration attached to the office held everybody expects a comfortable life after service and for their descendants.

Society develop through active institutions with effective workforce and citizens. The paradigm of mother Africa if left unchecked people will end up stealing their own lives.

Was the belief system where everyone fought for good name and eternal peace not effective than this artificial intelligence of institutions where everyone steals everyone with the believes the smartest shall win?

The less privileged always slaves of the privilege few. A brother's hut on fire is the pleasure of the neighbor. Respect is measured by the quantum of wealth one has. To the extent society is governed by riches not wisdom.
Arise, let's uphold and redefine who we are.
