The Jarwas Poem by Bijay Kant Dubey

The Jarwas

The Jarwas,
The Jarwas, Jarwas,
What is it in the Jarwas?
The great Andamanese people,
What was it Andaman before,
I don't know?
Should we ask it from the Jarwa people,
Should we about the art of living
During floods and natural disasters?
How their cottages,
What their experiences of wolves and tigers?
Were there tigers not
In the past?
Are there not monkeys, bears, deer,
Elephants?
Who to say to me,
Answer all these questions?
Just the Jarwas, Jarwas,
Does not satisfy me.
Did they ever build boats
And if how were those?
Were they here as for a shipwreck,
Which I don't know it?
