The Invitation Still Stands Poem by Gary James Smith

The Invitation Still Stands

The Invitation Still Stands

The invitation still stands
" Come and follow me'
I will make you fisher's of men
Live your life abundantly
For he that winneth soul's is wise
Lay up your treasure in heaven
No more precious gift to offer
Than a soul that's been forgiven

Thank you heavenly Father
For the new life now in Christ
Purposeful sanctified living
Because of our Lord's sacrifice
For great and greatly to be praised
Is that One who died for me
Shall I not offer back to Him
This life that He's given to me

So Father draw me closer
Where the fellowship is sweet
Having my mind stayed on You
Sitting at Jesus feet
Enjoying your Word immensely
Knowing full well I'm in Your hands
Sharing the news with my brothers and sisters
The invitation still stands!

Hallelujah what a Saviour!
