Aww I can imagine old age blues but even us in our forties feel depressed at least some days so your fantastic lament against growing pains makes us sigh wryly as we are all heading there if not reached already. Your poem is there to cheer and entertain us all so kudos! ! !

Bri, I am sure you know that while we get oldy we stay goody, in spite of all pains and drawbacks. So live and enjoy your present life. There will be no one more.

Hi Bri, It is a nice poem.You asked what is there to celebrate old -age with its pains.uncertainties and anxieties.It is a celebration of older persons who have done great contribution to their families, society and country and still have their wisdom, knowledge and experience to help their next generation.This day may be like a tribute to Older people and an acknowledgement for their sacrifice. I am being aware of this Day by Poem Hunter only.I have to google -search for its genesis.

CORRECTION: OK, TO SAY I " hate" OLD AGE AIN'T NECESSARILY SO, BUT..." hate" RHYMES SO WELL WITH " celebrate" , SO I COULD NOT RESIST USING IT. OLD AGE COULD WORK WELL FOR ME if it presently wasn't full of uncertainty, and my lack of control over my future, and the resulting anxiety which is sometimes too strong for my liking. : ( bri :)
