The Innocents Of Covid-19 Poem by Deanna Samuels

The Innocents Of Covid-19

Rating: 5.0

THREE HUNDRED AND SEVENTYFIVE THOUSAND INNOCENTS!
Three hundred and seventy five thousand and more innocents
Innocents deprived of their lives
Day after day, throughout the World, the toll rises

Each innocent did not seek to become infected
Their life was for living, carrying out their everyday tasks
Unbeknown, a silent invader, unseen, passed from one to another
No illness felt until telltale signs told of the bad news

Too late, the enemy within had triumphed, done its worst
Had jumped to more innocents, spreading its tentacles far beyond
Leaving victims to fight for their life or succumb and expire
Far too many have fallen under this deathly Satan's spell

Those thousands of innocents were not in the testament to perish
That unseen monster ensured their lives were not to cherish
The light has gone from their soul, too soon did they depart
A family deprived of a loved one so dear to their heart

Who really knows for certain how this disease originally began
Many theories and rumors have thrice encircled the Globe
Was it a nation's pride at stake, an error in an experimental lab?
No one knows for sure, no one is telling, but one thing is for certain

Three hundred and seventy five thousand innocents have paid the price
The count goes on, how many more will fall victim to this cruel virus
Only time will tell as the weeks, months and maybe years go by
When the records of history just become a number of Covid-19 lost lives

One of the greatest crisis's in recent history, thousands perishing simply because of foolishness of people. Its nice to see you honor the falling.
