A hattak vpi homma sia. Chahta siiahoki! Good poem, although to be 100% honest with you, words like brave and maiden are a bit outdated and somewhat resented...too many folks coming to our reservations and addressing us as brave, maid, squaw, chief, etc. The word warrior might work as a good substitute, no real negative connotations there and that's how we refer to our veterans of both past and present. I hope you don't mind me posting this as public because my aim is to inform and not embarrass. Still, I really liked the poem and gave it a 10. :)

A great write, as always..hehe....I do so enjoy your works...they bring so much to mind. I live in Indian Territory and see first hand the effects of European occupation in the NEW world...but...I see the effects of Americanism first hand also....blessings

I like the fact that you write about this subject. You've painted a clear picture and I could just imagine the whole scenario. Very good poem. To peace and the Indian way...

Time when life was not complicated...governance was easy...and the simple meaning of honor and dignity were the basal of human existence...
