Migration! ! ! With the muse of the Immigrant. Grant and want! ! Nature with challenges! Changes here and there; We are all immigrants on earth! But, home sweet home. Thanks for sharing this poem with us.
this is a wonderful piece. You have painted with words a poignant and engrossing story. Good job Rose!
Its a great poem that depicts the life and thoughts of a migrant not only fron The Phillipines but from all third world as you call. However hard he works in the first world the stamp on his " Migrant" will remain on him for ever. And the more he lacks the warm embrace of the mother land too.....10
This is a very touching and poignant portrayal of an international issue that has plagued all who are fated to leave their native soil and seek fortune in an alien soil! I have voiced more or less the same agony in my poem My Fractured Identity which I am happy to say, has been included in the syllabus for the undergraduate students in Philippines. I salute you Rose Marie for this powerful presentation! Top marks.....
Yet even in the farthest Side of the world He still seeks his Motherland In him not an iota of her is forgotten He missed the warmth of her embrace This is the sad story of most of the immigrants who toil in adverse weather and climes in far off lands just to make a living! The pain of being weaned from his mother's breast will haunt him. He will sadly miss his motherland and all dear ones there.
There is indeed no place like motherland. Beautifully penned and well conveyed...10++💗💗💗
His beloved Motherland The Pearl Of The Orient Seas The Philippines.... Beautiful sentiments on mother land. It feels good to read your pen after a gap.
What a great and loveliest country, the Motherland The Pearl Of The Orient Seas The Philippines and 7,107 islands. The immigrant remains THE immigrant his life long if he has gone abroad as a teenager, perhaps he could adapt his new resident Most fascinating words in this precious poem, crystal clear story, loveliest conveyed. A 10
Wow! What a fantastic and most captivating poem, one you don't want to end and I never knew it was called The Pearl Of The Orient Seas. What a stunning term of phrase that is and adds to your beautifully well written poem Rose Marie. A poem deserving of a full score and added to my favs for a most enjoyable and sunny reread. I won't ask if this is personal for there are times some things should remain unsaid. Thank you and take care.
His ashes will mingle with the dust And the wind and water Will carry him To the breadth and dimension Of the 7,107 islands
this poem has a real feeling of alienation and emigration, as if the poet lived it, this is the strength of the good texts, then we get to know the personality of the persevering Filipino, the invincible, whose heart is tied to his homeland wherever he is go, well penned and it is poignant piece of work 10/10 and onto my favorite list
His feet are tied to the Soil of his birth Like an umbilical cord That connects him to His beloved mother Yet he has a life Of his own And that cord has To be severed To let him fly.
Awesome, Nobody wants to leave his/her birthplace / motherland, the first and foremost place that gave shelter and love. Taught lessons of life, made aware about relations, provided comfort etc. but at times we bow before the circumstances and leave our beloved place for the sake of peace, for the sake of livelihood and safety. Complete detachment is beyond imagination.Your poem showed that love and the urge to return given chance. Thoughtful poem with eomtional ending 100+
A well written poem Rose...Thanks for sharing...10++
