The Hummingbird Saw It Poem by LeeAnn Azzopardi

The Hummingbird Saw It

Rating: 5.0

The hummingbird saw it
The crazed look
The evil in his eyes
And the hate
The hummingbird saw the separation of genders
Heard the threats
Then...then...
The blood spattered
The screaming was too much to undergo
The death of fourteen young women
The hummingbird saw all of it
He recalls every year
Placing fourteen white roses
On the steps where the blood still drips

I am seldom 'awe struck' by a poem on this site. This is one of those exceptions. Thank you for sharing.
