The Human Matrix Poem by Muktika Poddar

The Human Matrix

Rating: 5.0

I wish selfishness wasn't a human trait, but it is,
And not because we were made like this.
We were given a capacity to think and formulate,
But our experiences and wishes seldom correlate.

We are just a bunch of cells,
Jacked up on fuel that fast sells,
Barely existing, running on thin shells,
A tiny dot in the universe, like everyone else.

Why self-proclaim to be a lone wolf?
Why add complexity to your soul?
As we're led to believe we come and go alone,
Thus creating complexity in how we choose to be whole.

When everyone is in the same boat,
And everyone feels like a lost goat,
Why not join the dots to form a line?
Why not give love and live divine?

Selfishness orinates from the survival instinct that is planted in every living being by nature. Consider a virus or bacterium entering the human body and uses the host's resources to survive and multiply itself.. causes diseases and may unltimately destroy it..
