O the views from the house on the cliff's edge
Are simply divine! See the seagulls soar,
Over the deep blue green sea. The skies stretch
Out like dreams. Far below, waves crash and roar.
In olden days, fishermen once dwelt here.
I like it's calmness. Indeed, it's a place
To escape from current stresses and fears.
I need its naturalness and its grace.
Now I can imagine it's a refuge
For artists and poets who are searching
For something richer, born from solitude,
Than the paucity modernity brings.
Perhaps, one day I'll decide to remain
Here and simply observe, compose and paint.
Two of your other poems I cannot respond to, so very pity, dear Dominic! This is again an excellently worded poem!
