The Host Is Gone Poem by Prabir Gayen

The Host Is Gone

Rating: 5.0

The Host Is Gone

The day you came
Life oozed with manifold dosage,
The tree broke with infinite blossoms,
The sky broke with thundering scrimmage,
Mind with unceasing minds blew,
Mindless beauty dawned without clouds,
Or rainbow became crystal with new light,
New hope or hope without hope
Like newborn dew or bud washed the shore
of being with no little delight,
Thought coloured or without colours had wings
to have upward flight,
You came like untimely grown bower
Inviting songbirds to make summer
in the lawn of winter,
You came and the stars glittered
The Moon shone above the Sun,
The mirror within the mirror having no image,
As a Guest you knocked at the door
to break the sleep of the Host,
The day you came with the melody of wakefulness,
The Host became the Guest,
No longer the Host remained,
Like the dew evaporated in sun's lustrous view,
You came and I was gone forever.

Fine poetic expressions flowing down the river, river flows on, farther and more, yet remains the river as was ere.
