The Horizon Of Knowledge Poem by Ruta Mohapatra

The Horizon Of Knowledge

Rating: 5.0

Ah! Don't tell me
About exploding stars and expanding universe
Supernovas and black holes

Sure, they are fascinating tales
But I am trying to live a life
Within a paltry hundred years

Hanging between hope and despair
Between dreams and nightmares
Between fairy tales and ghost stories

Surviving accidents, hailstorms and floods
Riding the waves of success
Then sliding down the slope of failure

Just tell me how to make
A sense of this existence
This strange journey called life

I love the contrast you paint. Our little lives are pitiful and bleak and a puzzlement because we have eternity in our hearts.
