The Horizon Poem by Robert Powell

The Horizon

The Horizon Calls to me
It's siren song
Is far too strong
And I can't long
Ignore it's melody

Beyond the deep blue sea
There's many sites
New dreamy flights
And City Lights
That's where I long to be

To roam and to be free
My heart does swell
With joy I yell
From highest dell
To wonder is my creed

Against all normalcy
I buck and strain
I feel insane
I crave the plane
To distant shores I flee

In all my memory
St. Christophers ghost
Always meant the most
For beyond the coast
The horizon calls to me
