The Homeless Comments

Rating: 5.0

Treading the highways and byways seemingly without a care
Walking about the streets alone nobody knows you're there
Pushing a cart so ladened with all of their earthly goods
Sleeping under a bridge at night or camping out in the woods

Absolutely true. A poor may be poor by kind but may be much much above by virtue. Actually it's a shame of the society to have the poor. Either they could not be educated or could be carried along in the main stream. It's a lovely details sympathizing the poor peoplle...May we all have the same feeling for them

Your poem captures the plight of deprived ones so very vividly: Survival is a constant struggle always living life on the brink, how very true. But the tragic part is that despite so much advancement of Human race, ' They will always be a part of society...' Can't we evolve a social structure which takes care of the unfortunate ones. Moving write, makes one sit up and think.

they say they are the bottom of the barrel, but if you ask me I find that hard to swallow no one knows the pains that they have gone through, I 'm sure this was not the life that they chose to go thru. many could not deal with what life threw their way, so they abandoned it all and tried to run away. yet underneath the torn clothes and dirty hands, they are always there to help their fellow man.

The deprived and the marginalized also are our brethren and shouldn't be shunned! By sheer chance while some are born with silver spoons in their mouths, into the lap of comforts and riches, some others, for no fault of theirs happen to land on streets and pavements! So there is no need to feel great about ourselves or look at others with contempt! Your poem reminds us not to forget the ballads of the slums! A compassionate write!
