The Hockey Player Poem by LeeAnn Azzopardi

The Hockey Player

Rating: 5.0

You would have been a little older than me
I remember you playing hockey by yourself
No one thought the ice was too weak to support you
When you fell into the icy waters
Everyone was shocked
The firefighters and police tried to find you
Hoping you could be saved
But we couldn't even see you in the murky waters
Too dark as the winter's night
It was until spring when yr body was found
At the bottom of the waterfall
And no one ever play hockey on the lake again

So tragic and sad, LeeAnn. It reminds me of a tragedy which befell my childhood neighbors.
