As far as I am concerned, truly a cosy ballad that asks for rereading, when time allows

It is a captivating poem that delves into several themes: Love and Sacrifice: The poem beautifully portrays the deep love between the highwayman and Bess. Bess's ultimate sacrifice to save him adds a poignant layer to their relationship.

Very good, I enjoyed listening to this story; makes me think of either how life probably was for some in America & the UK in the 19th century. It also makes me think of the writings that I'm aware of from Washington Irving.
