The High Virtue Of Gratitude Poem by Gary James Smith

The high virtue of gratitude
Is an adornment of a heart
Transformed by the Word of God
Sanctified and set apart
To give God thanks in all things
No matter what the scale
From the minutest of our concerns
To including those of larger detail

In all things give Him thanks
For this is our Father's will
His thoughts higher then our thoughts
His ways above our ways as well
For God knoweth all things
From the beginning unto the end
Life has many twists and turns
To each problem He will attend

We rest in the great Restorer
Who goes above and beyond
And clothes us with immortality
And freedom from all corruption
To the removal of the fear of death
For He is death's Liberator
Affording us an Eternal Hope
Our God and our great Saviour

Clothed in His fine Righteousness
"Paid in full! " our signage for sin
Such redemptive work of Jesus Christ
His blood cleansing power within
And flowing through these veins of mine
A river of faith lives within
For in I know in whom I have believed
Giving cause for praise and thanksgiving!
